I have been fascinated by the topic of hacking and cyber-crime ever since I read “The Cuckoo’s Egg: Tracking a Spy Through the Maze of Computer Espionage” by Cliff Stoll over ten years ago. Since that time, I have closely followed this topic and watched cybercrime evolve.
Business owners, their employees and individual using the Internet are not aware of the increasingly sophisticated cyber-crime threat we all face online. Much of what they believe about cyber-crime is outdated. Our goal is to help others understand the current threats and to learn what they can do to minimize their risk of becoming a victim.
I have expertise in both cybersecurity and training. I’ve worked in the information technology field for 16+ years and have experience in systems administration, web application development and cybersecurity. I have an M.A. in Information and Learning Technologies from at the University of Colorado, Denver. I hold a certificate in User Experience Design (UX) from the highly-regarded Nielsen Norman Group.
I’m especially interested in the human side of IT and Security. I’m in the process of creating staff and personal developments training to help those in the tech field.
